Groceries were bought, not just for the night but for the upcoming week as well. The Kavinskys, now a legal pair, returned to their home in the suburbs of Darrow, music pumping in the bone white Mitsubishi--still with its expired Virginia plates that read THIEF, still with its splashed black knife decals, still with the angry dent and scratch from Ronan Lynch mangling the drivers' side with an orange Camero--and both of them ridiculous and in love.
The house was quieter now. There were their three rambunctious kittens, but Kavinsky had seen most of the others to homes, and the remainder to the shelter. When they walked in, the kittens looked up from a sun-lit spot on the couch, and then all put their heads back down.
Kavinsky smiled at Newt as they put groceries away. Nothing felt shifted or different, but in the best way that that was possible. He loved Newt, in that moment, with his whole, entire being. It was every moment he'd had with Newt for months, even when he was terrified of that feeling, even when he realized he might have feelings for other people too. This was a young man he loved so much that he could tie himself to, in a way that other people could see.
Kavinsky shucked off his coat, leaving him in his shirt and dark jeans. He unbuttoned the top couple buttons of his shirt, leaned over, and kissed Newt deeply. "Probably good we went for a Friday. Nobody'll miss us through the weekend."

"You sound like a shank with a plan."

It was hardly just that, but the whole day felt organic, pliable. They could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and didn't have to worry about time or the world outside this little house.

"Totally meant it about making you into a house boy for the weekend," teases Newt, sprawling out on the sofa and dropping the kitten on his belly. "Use and abuse you. Assert myself as your actual shucking husband." He huffs a laugh. "I still can't get used to the sound of that."

"We've got plenty of time to get used to it."

"I'd be shocked if you did," says Newt, scratching the kitten between her ears. "How filthy are you feeling?"

"More things change," says Newt, smirking a little, as he turns his head to catch Kavinsky's cheek in a kiss. "I maybe bought you a new collar. Maybe."

Without really looking, Newt lifts the kitten off his lap and drops her on her feet on the floor next to the sofa before he turns his head and catches Kavinsky's mouth in a truer kiss.
"It's up to you," he says. "I know you like the other one, but this one's slimmer. Comes with a leash."

He feels the shiver, pressed against his side as Kavinsky is, right then. "What? You mean you wouldn't dream me anything else I shucking desired?"

"I think we own practically everything else," teases Newt, smiling as he watches Kavinsky play with his wedding ring like that.

Newt tips his head back, giving Kavinsky all of the room that he needs at his neck. He huffs is a laugh. "Is it shucking ridiculous of me to kind of want to feel like I own you? Like...I don't mind sharing you, I really bloody don't, but...just for today."

"Sometimes, I just want you to be mine," says Newt, sighing softly. "I think that makes me really shucking selfish, but I don't even care."

Sometimes, Kavinsky wondered if Newt would be better if he had someone else, too. But even with Al here, Newt had been more cautious of Kavinsky being interested in other people. It didn't matter; it was true. Newt was always at the forefront of his thoughts.

Newt's hands slide along Kavinsky's thighs, around to cup his ass and tug him in closer. He leans up and presses a kiss to the point of Kavinsky's chin.
"Don't see you marrying any other shanks."

"Damn shucking right," says Newt, kissing down the hollow of Kavinsky's throat. "And you're going to spend all weekend showing me that, right, shank?"

"Do you want to start in here?" asks Newt, scraping his nails lightly against Kavinsky's jaw. "Or my study? Kitchen? Bedroom?" The room, he thinks, dictates the kind of scene that Kavinsky's craving.

His mind flashed to the last time they'd fucked in the kitchen, him wearing panties and garter and Newt taking him roughly over the edge of the table. He licked his lips.
"Study," he finally settled on. "If I'm gonna be on a leash, I might as well be under the desk?"

Newt nods, leaning forward to take Kavinsky's mouth in a rougher, hungrier kiss. He cradles the back of his neck, squeezing lightly.
"Go get changed," says Newt. "Just underwear and get on your knees in there."
