Copper sat her butt right down on the pavement and regarded Kavinsky thoughtfully. Her tail was paused in maybe thinking about wagging but she waited for signs of trust or dislike from Adam, always aligning herself to his choices. Adam always thought she was beautifully loyal that way, more than he deserved.
"Her name's Copper," he said. The way she was nibbling her chocolates made Adam think of the bags he carried. Each of them had four chocolates, one for himself and then a bag for each roommate. Grabbing the one closest to the top, he opened the box and took one out to nibble as well. "You stopped at that store, then?"
